Theme with the dominant white background seems to still be a trend or a choice of the majority of bloggers today.I myself still use it for my blogspot at MARYATI 2011,although not 100% white background. Behind the phenomenon of the many bloggers /blogger who chose the white theme,it turns out I found some of the myths surrounding the white theme.
1.White theme =light?
That said, one of the myths that developed rapidly in the blogging world that the themes that light was identical to the dominant white theme. Is this true? Really too colorful theme that is synonymous with heavy loading?
I myself do not agree with whitespace dominant theme was identical to a light loading. Lighter weight load time page (page loading time) is not determined by a combination of colors used in the coding of a theme / template, but rather is determined by the number of files/file downloaded by a web page / blog.
More precisely, light-heavy or fast-loading pages over the length of time specified by the http-request.What is http-request? Please read the article HTTP Request, Most Important Determinants of Web Performance (in rismaka.net)
2.White theme = net?
The dominant theme of white background also often considered as a clean theme. Why? I am still confused with the meaning 'clean' is often said that. What with that, the theme that no white background was identical to the theme of 'dirty'? :) For example the themes that I use on this blog. I deliberately use a background color other than white (on the main background, headers, post area, sidebar, comments area, and footer). The reason? Please read this blog post about the pastel background.
One of the recommendations (not binding rules) on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 states:
Using a light pastel background rather than a white background behind black text.
Source:Understanding WCAG 2.0.
Indeed,it is synonymous with pure white or a symbol of purity. But is also true for the world wide web, especially on the background color theme?
3.White theme = more friendly to the eye?
Is it true that a white background color is safer for the eyes? If you want to test it,please try to listen to the articles blogs at night a white background with contrasting conditions of the PC screen is not dimmed (or half-dim). Plus under light illumination. Do not you feel tired?
